BAIC itself is not a fly-by-night brand in Bahrain — Khalil Kanoo Motors still sells and services the current BJ and X-series range. The A1 hatchback, however, is a generation the dealer has moved on from, and used buyers should shop it accordingly.

The X35 was never the star of BAIC's range and it is not sold new in Bahrain today, but the dealer behind it, Khalil Kanoo Motors, still exists and still sells BAIC. That single fact makes it a meaningfully safer used buy than an orphaned-brand SUV of similar age and price.
