What a verified dealer badge means
A badge that is earned, not bought
A "Verified dealer" badge on motorssouq means one specific thing: a human moderator on our team opened that business account, reviewed the business details it submitted, and approved it. It is not automatic, it cannot be bought, and it is not granted by signing up.
This page sets out exactly what we check, what we do not check, and what changes on the platform once a dealer is approved — so you know precisely how much weight to put on the badge.

1. Register a dealer account
The business signs up and chooses "Dealer" rather than "Individual" as the account type. At this point nothing is verified: the account can list cars, but it has no badge, no storefront and no public presence in the dealer directory.
2. Complete the business profile
The dealer fills in the business profile: trading name in English and Arabic, commercial registration (CR) number, business address, business phone, website and logo. Only the trading name is technically required to submit — but the CR number and website are the evidence the moderator actually reviews, so an application without them is far weaker.
3. Apply for verification
Pressing "Apply for verification" moves the account into a pending queue. The dealer cannot approve themselves, and re-submitting does not move them up the queue — applications are reviewed in the order they arrive.
4. Manual review by a moderator
A moderator opens the account, reads the submitted business details, and either approves or rejects it. A rejection cannot be recorded without a written reason, and both outcomes are written to a permanent audit log against the account and the staff member who acted.
5. Approval, or a route back
On approval the badge appears, the public storefront goes live, and the date the dealer joined the verified network is stamped once and never changes. A rejected dealer is not locked out: they can correct their details and apply again.
Four verification states, no others

What a verified dealer unlocks
A public storefront at its own address, listing the dealer's live cars, bikes and plates in one place. Only approved, active dealers have one — every other URL returns "not found". The verified badge on the storefront, and a verified-dealer marker on the seller panel of every single listing the dealer publishes. A place in the public dealer directory and in the site's sitemap, so the storefront is discoverable through both browsing and search engines. Customer reviews and a star rating. Reviews exist only for verified dealers — an unverified account cannot be reviewed and shows no stars. A publicly visible dealer logo. An unverified dealer's logo stays private to their own dashboard. Larger daily allowances for the AI tools — ten times the individual account's daily listing extractions, and a five-times larger daily budget for the Burashed assistant.
What the badge does not promise
Verification is a check on the business, not on any individual car. An approved dealer can still list a car with a problem, and every listing — dealer or private — goes through the same listing moderation. The moderator reviews the business details the dealer submitted, principally the commercial registration number and the website. We do not carry out a showroom inspection, a credit check, or a background check on the owners. Verification says nothing about price. The market band and deal verdict shown on a listing are calculated the same way for a verified dealer, an unverified dealer and a private seller. The badge is not a warranty, an escrow, or a guarantee of any transaction. Inspect the car and check the paperwork exactly as you would with any seller.

Why the star ratings can be trusted
Only someone who actually contacted that dealer through motorssouq can review them — an enquiry, a revealed phone number, a WhatsApp tap or a chat about one of their listings. Anonymous drive-by reviews are impossible. One review per person per dealer, rated from 1 to 5 stars, with at least 20 characters of written feedback. A dealer cannot review themselves, and cannot delete, hide or edit a review left about them. There is no "remove this review" button anywhere in the dealer dashboard. Every review is read by a moderator before it appears, so a published review has passed the same human check the dealer did. The author can withdraw a review only while it is still awaiting moderation, and can edit a published one only within 24 hours — after which the edit returns it to moderation. This is what stops ratings being published, then quietly withdrawn. The star average counts published reviews only, and is shown to one decimal place. A dealer with no published reviews shows no rating at all rather than a flattering default.
Questions about verification
Can a dealer pay to be verified?
No. Verification is granted only by a moderator approving the account after reviewing the business details it submitted, and there is no product on motorssouq that grants or accelerates it. Promotion packages change where listings appear; they do not change verification.
What is actually checked before a dealer is approved?
A moderator reviews the business details on the account — principally the trading name, the commercial registration number and the website — and decides whether they identify a real motor trade business in Bahrain. We do not inspect showrooms, collect identity documents, or run credit checks as part of this flow.
Does a verified badge mean the cars are inspected?
No. Verification is about the business, not the vehicles. A verified dealer is a real, identified trader that we can hold accountable — it is not a mechanical guarantee on any car they list. Arrange your own inspection before you buy.
Can a dealer delete a bad review?
No. Dealers have no power to delete, hide or edit reviews written about them. Only the person who wrote a review can withdraw it, and only while it is still awaiting moderation — once it is published it stays, and the star average counts it.
