motorssouq.com is a Bahrain-registered automotive marketplace. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect about you, how we use it, and the choices you have. We are the data controller of personal data we process about Platform users.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account data: name, email, phone number, password (hashed), preferred locale.
• Listing data: photos, descriptions, pricing, location, and any details you choose to publish.
• Verification data: for dealers, your CR number and trade-licence document image.
• Usage data: pages viewed, listings clicked, search filters applied, device type, browser, and approximate location derived from IP.
• Communication data: messages exchanged with other users on the Platform, support tickets, and feedback.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to: (a) operate and improve the Platform; (b) match buyers with relevant listings; (c) verify dealer accounts; (d) communicate with you about listings, transactions, and support tickets; (e) prevent fraud and enforce our Terms; and (f) comply with legal obligations.

4. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these circumstances:

• With other users — for example, your published listing details and the messages you send through the Platform.
• With service providers — hosting, email, analytics — who process data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality.
• With authorities — when required by Bahraini law, court order, or law-enforcement request.
• With acquirers — if motorssouq.com is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your data may be transferred subject to standard confidentiality undertakings.

5. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for session management, preference storage, and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may break login and listing-creation flows.

6. Data Retention

We retain account data for as long as your account is active and for up to 7 years after closure to comply with tax and audit obligations. Listing data older than 24 months is anonymised. You may request earlier deletion subject to our legal obligations.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, object to processing, and request data portability. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@motorssouq.com from the email address registered to your account.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data: TLS encryption in transit, encrypted backups, access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is fully impenetrable; if we become aware of a personal-data breach affecting you, we will notify you and the Personal Data Protection Authority within 72 hours.

9. International Transfers

Some of our service providers operate outside Bahrain. When we transfer your data to such providers we use Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards. We do not transfer data to countries that do not provide an adequate level of protection.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest change. Material changes will be notified to active users by email or through an in-app banner.
