Delete your Motors Souq account

This page explains how to delete your account on Motors Souq (موتورز سوق) — the Motors Souq app on Google Play and the App Store, and motorssouq.com — what happens to your data, and what we keep and for how long.

How to request deletion

In the Motors Souq app

Open the Account tab.
Under Account, tap Edit profile.
Scroll down to Danger zone and tap Delete account.
Optionally tell us why you are leaving, enter your Password, and tick I understand this cannot be undone.
Tap Delete my account, then confirm Delete my account in the final dialog.

On motorssouq.com

Open your account and choose Profile (dealers: Showroom profile).
Under Danger zone, click Delete account.
Enter your Current password and click Continue.
Optionally tell us why, then click Continue.
Click Delete my account. You will see Account deletion scheduled.

Deleting requires your password. If you signed up with Google and never set one, use Forgot password? on the sign-in page to set a password first, or email us.

By email

If you cannot sign in:

Email privacy@motorssouq.com from the email address registered to your account.
Write “Delete my account” and include the phone number on the account, if any.
We confirm your identity through that registered address before deleting the account.

What happens after you ask

Straight away
- Your account is locked and can no longer be used to sign in.
- You are signed out on every device.
- Your listings come off the site, and no one can contact you through them.
- We stop sending you alerts and notification emails.
30 days to change your mind
We email you a recovery link. Opening it within 30 days restores the account and its listings as they were. After 30 days the link stops working.
Permanent deletion
Once the 30 days are over, your account is scheduled for permanent deletion, including:
- Your profile: name, email address, phone number and password.
- Your listings and their photos.
- Saved searches and favourites.
- Chat messages and support tickets, including any files you attached.
- Dealer verification documents (commercial registration certificate).

Tip: to keep your account and only take your listings down, delete them from My listings instead. Go to My listings

What we keep, and for how long

Payment, invoice and order records (for example paid boosts and dealer packages), with the account details needed to identify them, are kept for up to 7 years after the account is closed to meet tax and audit obligations.

Delete some data without closing your account

You can remove specific data yourself while keeping your account — in the app or on motorssouq.com, signed in:

Listings: In My listings, choose Delete on a listing. It comes off the site immediately and is permanently deleted, photos included, 30 days later.
Listing photos: Edit the listing and remove the photo. The photo is deleted from our storage; a published listing goes back for a quick review after the change.
Saved searches: In Saved searches, delete a search to erase it and its alerts.
Favourites: In Favourites, remove any listing you saved.
Dealer reviews you wrote: Open the review on the dealer’s page and choose Delete.
Connected accounts: In Connected accounts, disconnect Google sign-in.
Chat messages, a copy of your data, or anything else: Conversations cannot be deleted one by one in the app. Email privacy@motorssouq.com from your registered address to have messages or other personal data (such as your phone number) deleted, or to request a copy of your data.

What is kept

A deleted listing is taken off the site straight away and stays in your account for 30 days, so you can restore it; after that it is permanently deleted with its photos.
Saved searches, favourites, photos, reviews and connections you remove are deleted at once.
Payment and invoice records are kept for up to 7 years for tax and audit, even if the related listing is deleted.
