The GMT360-generation Envoy ran from 2002 to 2009 and was GMC's answer to the Ford Explorer and Jeep Grand Cherokee of the era — body-on-frame construction, a torquey inline-six, and genuine towing capacity for a mid-size SUV. It was never officially distributed in the Gulf in meaningful numbers, and the small population that exists in Bahrain today arrived as private used imports, mostly from North America.
The 4.2-litre Vortec inline-six is the reason anyone who knows the car still wants one: 275 hp and a flat torque curve that made the Envoy noticeably stronger off the line than most mid-size SUVs of its generation, with a straight-six smoothness the segment's V6 rivals could not match.
