2.7/5
The RX5 was MG's first real push into the Gulf's compact-SUV segment, and its used prices in Bahrain now look like a bargain. It usually is one — but only after a proper pre-purchase inspection, because this is an early-cycle MG turbo and DCT-era car with a thinner support network than the model that replaced it.
3.3/5
The MG5 has barely changed since 2019, and that is fine — it was never trying to be exciting. It is the sedan you buy in Bahrain when the invoice number matters more than anything else, backed by a warranty no Japanese rival here can match.
3.2/5
The MG6 is the sedan in the range that actually rewards a driver: a proper turbo four and a dual-clutch gearbox that wants to be worked. In Manama's stop-start traffic and 45°C summers, that same gearbox is also the car's biggest question mark.
3.6/5
The all-new MG3 that landed in the GCC in 2024 is a bigger, better-built and better-equipped car than the one it replaced, at a price that still undercuts almost everything else new in Bahrain. It is the easiest recommendation in the entire MG range.
3.3/5
The MG GT looks like it belongs a class above its price in Bahrain, with a fastback roofline and a badge that promises pace. The base 1.5-litre delivers the looks without the performance; the turbo further up the range is the one that actually matches the styling.
3.8/5
The second-generation HS is the most convincing MG on sale in Bahrain: properly spacious, generously equipped, and priced meaningfully under a Tucson or CR-V with a warranty that makes both of them look stingy by comparison.
3.5/5
The RX8 gives a family the size and the 2.0-litre turbo muscle of a Fortuner-class SUV at a noticeably lower price, with a warranty that shames both Toyota and Mitsubishi. What it does not yet have is their reputation for shrugging off a decade of Gulf heat and desert use without complaint.
3.8/5
The ZS has been MG's volume seller in the Gulf for years on price alone. The all-new 2024 car is the first generation that competes with a Seltos or Creta on substance as well, not just on the invoice.
